This project renovated an existing, historic hotel in the New Orleans CBD. The client’s desire to design the site in a sustainable and environmentally conscious manner allowed for a number of innovative stormwater management techniques to be employed: subsurface soil cells for installed trees, large rain gardens with a diverse collection of native wetland and swamp plant species, and pervious pavers throughout the site’s courtyard areas. Batture also provided the structural design of the outdoor decks, utilizing our multi-discipline capacity to help bring the project to completion.
