Loyola University in New Orleans is developing a new seven-story dormitory to provide housing for over 600 students. The building is a post-tensioned concrete structure, meaning the tendons are tensioned after the concrete has hardened and the pressing force is primarily transferred to the concrete through the end anchorages. The dorms were designed to feature an interior courtyard. Design on this project was completed over 10 months, and construction is still in development.
Batture worked with EskewDumezRipple, GVA Engineering, Woodward Design+Build, and Gandolfo Kuhn on this project.
